Loft Insulation
If you want to save some of that hard earned cash that goes to the electric and gas supply companies and do your bit for the environment, make sure you have adequate loft insulation. The national energy foundation reckon that most people can save 20% off their fuel bills. Most houses that do have insulation, have less than the currently recommended 270mm (10 inch!). So if you've only got 2" - 4", its definitely worth thinking about a top up. The most common and eassiest to use form of insulation comes in fibre rolls. Make sure you use a mask when installing loft insulation.

Insulation Grants
Many people can qualify for loft insulation grants. If you are over 60 or in receipt of Income Support or similar benefits, you will certainly be eligible for an insualtion grantt, possibly for the whole cost.
